To train on AutoTQ, you need:

  • AutoTQ Kit

  • USB-C Cable (from kit pocket)

  • Computer

  • Yourself and a buddy

Purpose of the Study:
You are being asked to participate in a brief research study to evaluate how a training session affects participants’ confidence in performing AutoTQ. This information will help us understand the training’s impact and improve future programs.

What You’ll Do:
You’ll be asked to complete two short surveys: one before the training and one after. Each survey will take about 2–3 minutes. You’ll rate how confident you feel in performing certain tasks related to the training.

Voluntary Participation:
Your participation is completely voluntary. You may choose not to participate or to stop at any time without penalty.

Confidentiality:
No personal identifying information will be collected. Survey responses will be anonymous and stored securely. Only the research team will have access to the data.

Risks and Benefits:
There are no expected risks from participating. While there are no direct benefits to you, your input will help us improve training quality and effectiveness.

Publication:
The results of this study may be published in academic or professional forums. Individual responses will not be identifiable in any reports.

TRAINING PRE-SURVEY

Thank you so much for helping us refine our training protocols for AutoTQ! Please fill out this survey prior to completing training.

FOR PURPOSES OF THE STUDY: please record yourself going through the training! Take a video on your phone and text it to (561) 866-9697 (Hannah) when you are done.

Prepare device:

    1. Unzip package and open AutoTQ

    2. Remove safety cover if present

    3. Power ON the tourniquet device

    4. Remove USB-C Cover and Connect to computer via USB cable

    5. Press the “power” button once to mute the audio instructions

2. Browser Permission

Ensure USB-C is connected and light is flashing green on top of the device

Click “Connect Device” below

3.Learn basic device operation

Unwrap tourniquet cuff so it is one large circle.

Pull cuff over limb

Pull strap AS TIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE as high as you can on the limb while still parallel to the ground (i.e. upper forearm, but not over a shoulder)

Always pull strap AWAY form the center of the body.

Press inflate. wait for AutoTQ to pressurize and the next screen will appear automatically.

4. Check your radial pulse.

If you feel a pulse, press “inflate” again. Each time you press “inflate”, 50 mmHg of pressure is added, up to 600 mmHg max.

DEVIN can you add a button that has them indicate if they DID NOT stop the pulse and need to repeat the training?

5. Safe pressure release

Hold POWEr/DEFLATE button for 3 seconds.

Squeeze ALL air out of the cuff.

Press the power button to unmute instructions, and apply the tourniquet to your buddy.

Check the radial pulse to confirm the pulse has stopped. You can do it!

Charge and pack AutoTQ- you’re ready to go!
